Assessment and Record Keeping
Key Workers are responsible for their Key Children’s progress, and for planning activities to move their learning on. They are skilled at analysing what each child is doing, identifying the progress made and identifying the child’s next steps. Photos and videos are uploaded onto a secure online portal called Tapestry. Upon enrolment at Stepping Stones, parents are given unique login details which enables them to access these photos and videos for their child. Parents are able to comment on the posts and add their own observations of what their child has done at home. This is a really important link between home and the setting.
In the summer term, parents are invited to a parent consultation meeting with their child’s Key Worker. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the progress, development and achievement of their child.
Online Learning Journal For Early Years Education | Tapestry
Tapestry builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years and primary education. Using photos, videos, and diary entries, a teacher or early years educator, along with the child’s parents or carers, and the child themselves if they’re ready, ‘weaves’ the story of the child and how they are growing and developing. The Tapestry platform then works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. All information held in the platform is stored securely and can be downloaded and shared as required. Parents or carers are able to view their child’s progress, the activities provided for them, and how much fun they’re having, whilst also uploading their own comments and media.
